Good day all, a question aimed at both european and non-european members.

What would be your favorite european cars in which to see a woman having hard start problems?

My favorites are small carbureted cars from early '80s, like Renault 5, Peugeot 205, Fiat Panda/Uno, VW Polo, Mini, Ford Fiesta MK1/MK2, Opel Corsa MK1, Seat Marbella.

I'm curious to hear about you all! :)

 Hi Murmur79,
that's a interesting question. I was born in 1970. So I totally agree with your proposals.
But I think for older or younger people it could be complete different. Perhaps someone else is replying soon.
My list:
Alfa  Romeo Gulia
Audi 50 1974-1978 (same as VW Polo)
Citroen Visa/AX/2CV
Fiat 124/127/128/131/Panda/Ritmo/Uno
Ford Fiesta/Eskort Mk1+2
Honda Civic
Lancia Y10
Mazda 323
Mini
Nissan Cherry
Opel Ascona/Corsa/Kadett D/Kadett E
Peugeot 104/205
Renault 4/5/9
Seat Marbella/Ibiza
Skoda 105
VW Bug/Polo/Golf(Rabbit) Mk1
Volvo 340

From this list are my top cars from Fiat, Ford, Opel, Seat and VW

Lancia Y10 is very good too. And the VW Golf mk1. Old Alfa Romeos are nice as well. :)

 Hi,

Most of my favourite european cranking cars are from Italy or France with manual chokes of the 50's, 60's and 70's, especially the models with 2 cylinder engines:

Fiat 126
Fiat 500
Citro?n 2cv
Citro?n Ami 6
Citro?n Méhari
Citro?n Dyane
but also:
Renault 4
Renault 5
Fiat Panda
Fiat 850
Skoda 105
Austin Mini

The French and Italian cars of these years were difficult to start especially during the winter time!! I was happy to grow up in the Netherlands where weather was often humid.

Enjoy your week,

Afslaan

Thank you afslaan, great feedback! I think these cars are quite popular among a lot of european cranking fans.

The best cars are definitely carbureted with manual choke, and with manual transmissions.

Online, I discovered the Fiat Uno, from a couple of Youtube videos featuring teacher Kelly stalling and shifting, and I was amazed how much they fit my preference. I ended up buying a bunch of them.

And then, I think the Mother Lode was finding PTP.com, and discovering Cassandra moving the Volvo! That was just the best of the best. So that car became my favorite, and Cassandra became my preferred clumsy woman driver online. She is just perfect in my book.

What I really like about the Volvo are the big pedals, the long shifter which quivers when the rpm's are too low, and the groaning sounds it makes when stalling.

Lepetit

The sexiest women drivers are naturally-clumsy with 3 pedals and a shifter ;)

The PTP Volvo is definitely a very nice pp vehicle.  Lots of great cranking but my favorites are Marilyn, Brooke and the one where two sisters take turns trying to start the car.

I had a 68 Opel Kadett that was a great cranking car.  The manual choke didn't work but it was easy to flood and it would crank for quite a long time before the battery would run down.

Yeah I like the PTP Volvo too and the old Opel Kadett. But my favorite PedalSupreme car was definitely the Falcon. Its manual choke and the cold engine behaviour made it act a more like the typical european carbureted car. :-)

I used to pull the choke on the Falcon all the way out before the models got in the car.  The car would start with high idling but would stall as the model backed down the driveway, and would then be a bitch to get started again.  Very few models ever made it all the way to the street in front of my house.  My favorite car was the 51 Chevy because the choke could be used to flood the car.  I had some really good clips from the storage yard because the Chevy would turn over like it wanted to start but wouldn't.

The videos with the cold Falcon in the storage yard or in the garage are among my absolute favorites, pretty much my ideal fantasy.

One of the very first models in the Falcon was Chase.  Had lots of fans but unfortunately she never returned for another shoot.  The Falcon actually caught fire when I was shooting at the storage lot.  One of many interesting experiences I had during the ten years of shooting video.

The PTP Volvo is one of my favorites.  Too many good videos to list here but some of my favorites:
-The Cassandra & Scarlet grocery store video
-Rikey with the pink flip flops
-The scripted one with Tiffany trying to take her kid to school

I also like the Pedal Extreme videos with the Mercedes W123.  Great cranking, dual carbs, some of them involve ether.

And all the Audi 60 vids on PedalTube.

For me.... It's going to be Volvo and VW for my favorite Euro brands.  While I grew up in the 70's and 80's in the US and prefer temperamental American cars and trucks common back then, I still love the sound, smell and open foot wells of 70's Volvo's and VW's.  One of my first experiences where I was aware of  the cranking, pumping and bouncing of my mom's friend was in her VW wagon.  I also had a friend in high school who drove a Bug, which I took a particular liking to as well.  My first car was an '81 242 DL Volvo and I currently own a '73 P1800ES which I hope to get back on the road soon (fallen into disrepair 7-8 years ago and hasn't been run since).  I look forward to seeing my sexy wife behind the wheel doing all of her fancy footwork.  I'll make sure it's running.... But not running well.  I love the sound of that starter whirling, with that almost catching sound.  My wife's pretty 8.5 feet have mastered various types of pumping too.  ???
