NUN A woman's car broke down as she was driving past a beautiful old monastery. She walked up the drive and knocked on the front door. Anun answered, listened to the woman's story and graciously invited her to spend the night. The nun'sfed the woman and led her to a tiny chamber in which to sleep. The woman thanked thenuns and slept serenely until she was awakened by a strange and beautiful sound. The next morning, as thenun's were repairing her car, she asked about thesound that had woke her. "We're sorry," thenuns said, "We can't tell you about the sound. You'renot a nun." The woman was disappointed, but eager to be gone, so she thanked thenuns for their kindness and went on her way. During quiet moments afterward, the woman pondered the source of the alluring sound.Several years later the woman happened to be driving in the same area. He stopped at the monastery on a whim and asked admittance. She explained to the nuns that she had so enjoyed her previous stay, she wondered if she might be permitted to spend another night under theirpeaceful roof. The nuns agreed, and so the woman stayed with them again. Late that night, she heard the strange beautiful sound. The following morning she begged the nuns to explain the sound. The nuns gave her the same answer as before. "We're sorry. We can't tell you about the sound. You're not a nun". By now the woman's curiosity had turned to obsession. She decided to give up everything and become a nun, for that was the only way she could learn about the sound. She informed the nuns of her decision and began the long and arduous taskof becoming a nun. Seventeen years later, the woman was finally established as a true member of the order. When the celebration ended, she humbly went to the leader of the order and asked to be told the source of the sound. Silently, the oldnun led the newnun to a huge wooden door. She opened the door with a golden key. That door swung open to reveal a second door of silver, then a third of gold and so on until they had passed through twelve doors, each more magnificent than the last. The new nun's face was awash with tears of joy as she finally beheld the wondrous source of the beautiful mysterious sound she had heard so manyyears before.......... > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >But, I can't tell you what it was. NUN

A woman's car broke down as she was driving past a beautiful old monastery. She walked up the drive and knocked on the front door. A nun answered, listened to the woman's story and graciously invited her to spend the night.

The nun's fed the woman and led her to a tiny chamber in which to sleep. The woman thanked the nuns and slept serenely until she was awakened by a strange and beautiful sound.

The next morning, as the nun's were repairing her car, she asked about the sound that had woke her.

"We're sorry," the nuns said, "We can't tell you about the sound.  You're not a nun."

The woman was disappointed, but eager to be gone, so she thanked the nuns for their kindness and went on her way.
During quiet moments afterward, the woman pondered the source of the alluring sound.

Several years later the woman happened to be driving in the same area. He stopped at the monastery on a whim and asked admittance. She explained to the nuns that she had so enjoyed her previous stay, she wondered if she might be permitted to spend another night under their peaceful roof.

She informed the nuns of her decision and began the long and arduous task of becoming a nun. Seventeen years later, the woman was finally established as a true member of the order.

When the celebration ended, she humbly went to the leader of the order and asked to be told the source of the sound.

Silently, the old nun led the new nun to a huge wooden door.  She opened the door with a golden key. That door swung open to reveal a second door of silver, then a third of gold and so on until they had passed through twelve doors, each more magnificent than the last. The new nun's face was awash with tears of joy as she finally beheld the wondrous source of the beautiful mysterious sound she had heard so many years before..........
