Yes, I live on the liberal East Coast. Yes, most people here support gay marriage, abortion, unions....and yes, I know many/most of the fans here come from the heartlands of the USA, as well as overseas and abroad...so I know the mention of the new Michael Moore film will stir reaction before I type a review. However,I consider myself a moderate-conservative. Economically speaking, I share more Republican views than Democrat. Gun control? Democrat all the way (ooo I made someone mad with that) Hence why I am a registered Independant. So, I feel, independantly, I can give a review of this movie.Of course it has a liberal agenda, and a liberal bias. Yes, there are times he is manipulating the audience by exploiting the grief of 9/11 victims. It was interesting to notice the transformation of a mother who was VERY pro-military UNTIL her own son sacrificed his life in IRAQ. Still you understand her anger, and her frustration...her loss...and for what? The question Michael Moore raises cannot be ignored. Why are we in IRAQ? Why wasn't this same mass of assault waged on the people responsible for 9-11. Why were multiple Saudi's and Bin Ladens allowed to leave the US on 9/13/01 without being detained or questioned, and while ALL flights were "grounded". It also is alarming the ties of the Bin Ladens, the Saudis, Haliburton, and the Bush administration both past and present, and the fact that no Iraqi had ever attacked or killed and Amercian before 4/2003...yet we felt we had to "stop" them from attacking us with weapons we have been unable to produce.hmmmmmmmmmmmmmMicheal Moore has never been sued for slander or liable in any movie he has ever made. It is unlikely he will be for this one either. If nothing else, the movie should be seen, as to believe someone blindly is irresponsible. This movie, if nothing else, will cause you to re-evaluate who you are voting for and why. Maybe you will find the answers to the question Michael Moore is raising, and can make a counter-documentary of your own.I know I have been busy reading up on counter-points to this movie...but it has stayed with me regardless.

Accident, riiiiight. I just said that there really is no such thing as Freedom Of Speech anymore. Say anything and you get busted for it no matter what it is. I have a feeling they're rewriting the Constitution as time goes on. I don't even feel safe here in the US anymore.

This board is the proof that freedom of speech is alive and well.  Here is another fine example:  The war budget for Iraq is now at $100 Billion.

Just for the record, that is $100,000,000,000.00!

Our tax dollars at work.

I guess everyone out there has full health insurance that is affordable.

An Open Letter From the Bill Clinton Monument Committee.

Dear Friends and Relatives:

We have the distinguished honor of being on the committee to raise $5,000,000 for a monument of Bill Clinton. We originally wanted to put him on Mt. Rushmore until we discovered there was not enough room for two more faces.

We then decided to erect a statue of Bill Clinton in Washington, D.C. Hall of Fame. We were in a quandary as to where the statue should be placed. It was not proper to place it beside the statue of George Washington, who never told a lie, or beside Jesse Jackson, who never told the truth, since Bill Clinton could never tell the difference.

We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the greatest Democrat of them all. He left not knowing where he was going, and when he got there he did not know where he was. He returned not knowing where he had been, and did it all on someone else's money.

If you are one of the fortunate people who have anything left after taxes, we expect a generous contribution to this worthwhile project.

Thank you.

Bill Clinton Monument Committee

P.S. The Committee has raised $1.35 so far.

Once again, Ice, you cut to the chase.  Those are just a few interesting points.  All things will begin to come to light.  I don't think the Democrats got what they wanted out of their convention, as is evidenced by their candidate having received the lowest post-convention popularity "bounce" since McGovern. Now we begin to hear from a large group of fellow "Swiftboaters" who are discussing untruths Kerry has spoken regarding the circumstances of his service and the awards he received for said service.  And his wife? Gimme a break.  Pure Eurotrash.  She has no class, regardless of how freely she speaks her mind.  At least Hillary had a little class.  Put Tereeza (LMAO) with Fabio and send her home! Me? I'm heading to Wendy's and I'm really gonna eat the food instead of setting up a photo-op and then throwing the food away. One would think they would have given perfectly good vittles to some of the less fortunate they say are "their utmost priority in America today". Right!

Clinton is not running for anything, Bush is Running against Kerry.  So why not compare records?  Because Bush has no record to compare.  He was handed every job from his dad and has done nothing for himself, like a real man.  He lost the election but was elected anyway because the Dem's were too stupid to win!

ALL the members of Kerry's platoon stood beside him without ever being asked-that's good enough for me.

We should discuss Bush's military record, but he was too much a coward and spent the time avoiding his guard duty his dad got him.  He did drink a lot of beer, and his beer buddies (the ones defending the Saudis in court against the 911 families) will attest to that.

Kerry-went to 'Nam.

Bush-avoided his guard duty like the cowardly dog that he is.  Bush has a lot of balls talking about Kerry's military record, he should just shut up about that.

so how do you really feel??

This Iraqi mess continues:

Aug 5, 9:29 AM (ET)

By JAMIE TARABAY

"The cease-fire is over because of the actions of the occupation forces, and the situation has started to deteriorate," warned Sheik Abdul Hadi al-Daraji, a spokesman for al-Sadr in Baghdad.

Al-Sadr's men also fought with U.S. troops in the Baghdad neighborhood of Sadr City, shot at government offices in the southern city of Amarah and clashed with British forces farther south in Basra.

Combat in Najaf killed at least two people, and the U.S. military said one of its UH-1 helicopters was hit by gunfire and crashed, injuring the crew.

Also Thursday, a suicide car bombing at a police station south of Baghdad killed five people and wounded 27, the Interior Ministry said".

Looking back....standing on that battleship declaring major combat is over a YEAR AGO...was a little premature
