Yes, I live on the liberal East Coast. Yes, most people here support gay marriage, abortion, unions....and yes, I know many/most of the fans here come from the heartlands of the USA, as well as overseas and abroad...so I know the mention of the new Michael Moore film will stir reaction before I type a review. However,I consider myself a moderate-conservative. Economically speaking, I share more Republican views than Democrat. Gun control? Democrat all the way (ooo I made someone mad with that) Hence why I am a registered Independant. So, I feel, independantly, I can give a review of this movie.Of course it has a liberal agenda, and a liberal bias. Yes, there are times he is manipulating the audience by exploiting the grief of 9/11 victims. It was interesting to notice the transformation of a mother who was VERY pro-military UNTIL her own son sacrificed his life in IRAQ. Still you understand her anger, and her frustration...her loss...and for what? The question Michael Moore raises cannot be ignored. Why are we in IRAQ? Why wasn't this same mass of assault waged on the people responsible for 9-11. Why were multiple Saudi's and Bin Ladens allowed to leave the US on 9/13/01 without being detained or questioned, and while ALL flights were "grounded". It also is alarming the ties of the Bin Ladens, the Saudis, Haliburton, and the Bush administration both past and present, and the fact that no Iraqi had ever attacked or killed and Amercian before 4/2003...yet we felt we had to "stop" them from attacking us with weapons we have been unable to produce.hmmmmmmmmmmmmmMicheal Moore has never been sued for slander or liable in any movie he has ever made. It is unlikely he will be for this one either. If nothing else, the movie should be seen, as to believe someone blindly is irresponsible. This movie, if nothing else, will cause you to re-evaluate who you are voting for and why. Maybe you will find the answers to the question Michael Moore is raising, and can make a counter-documentary of your own.I know I have been busy reading up on counter-points to this movie...but it has stayed with me regardless.

So we shoul not buy a Chrysler?  Mexico is not a trade partner?

How about an answer to this question:  What car is wholy made in the USA by a US company?  What does that have to do with 1 person driving a 8-seat SUV every day for a commute or errands?

This has nothing to do with the facts about Bush, but it is a nice distraction.

Here are some facts about August 6th, 2001 that you might find interesting.

1.  August 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Brief (PDB): ?l-Qa'ida members -- including some who are US citizens -- have resided in or traveled to the US for years, and the group apparently maintains a support structure that could aid attacks.  Two al-Qa'ida members found guilty in the conspiracy to bomb our Embassies in East Africa were US citizens, and a senior EIJ member lived in California in the mid-1990s.  A clandestine source said in 1998 that a Bin Ladin cell in New York was recruiting Muslim-American youth for attacks.  We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational threat reporting, such as that from a ... (redacted portion) ... service in 1998 saying that Bin Ladin wanted to hijack a US aircraft to gain the release of ?lind Shaykh?'Umar 'Abd al-Rahman and other US-held extremists.  Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York.?I> August 6, 2001, Bin Ladin Determined to Strike Inside US,

2. ?resident Bush swung into vacation mode Monday, fishing for bass in his pond, strolling the canyons on his 1,600-acre ranch, taking an early-morning run.  Associated Press, ?resident Bush Vacationing in Texas,?August 6, 2001.

.........but he likes to vacation, heck, who doesn't?

3. ?ews coverage has pointedly stressed that W.'s month-long stay at his ranch in Crawford is the longest presidential vacation in 32 years. Washington Post supercomputers calculated that if you add up all his weekends at Camp David, layovers at Kennebunkport and assorted to-ing and fro-ing, W. will have spent 42 percent of his presidency ?t vacation spots or en route.?  Charles Krauthammer, ? Vacation Bush Deserves,?The Washington Post, August 10, 2001.

But that has all changed since 911, right?  Wrong!

4.  As of April 2004, President Bush had made 33 trips to Crawford during his presidency, bringing his total to more than 230 days at the ranch in just over three years. ?dd his 78 trips to Camp David and five to his family? compound at Kennebunkport, Maine, and Bush has spent all or part of 500 days ?or about 40 percent of his presidency ?at one of these his three retreats.??ush Retreats to a Favorite Getaway: Crawford ranch,?Houston Chronicle, April 11, 2004.

Drug trafficking through Mexico has a tremendous impact on the United States. All major drugs of abuse in the United States are either produced in, or are transited through, Mexico. An estimated 70 percent of all cocaine originating from South America destined for the United States transits the Mexico?entral America corridor. Additionally, Mexico is the number one foreign supplier of marijuana to the United States, and is a major supplier and producer of methamphetamine and heroin. Mexico is also a transit country for MDMA, and there are indications that MDMA production is occurring in Mexico.

Mexico continues to be one of the primary money laundering centers in Latin America. Sophisticated polydrug trafficking organizations capitalize on the voluminous trade and traffic between the two countries to facilitate the movement of bulk-cash shipments between the United States and Mexico.

Bulk currency shipments continue to be the most prevalent method used by Mexican drug traffickers to move trafficking proceeds. U.S. currency is concealed and transported by courier or cargo, either overland or by air. The money often travels in the same vehicle or airplane that originally transported the drugs into the United States. Concealment methods used by drug traffickers are often difficult to detect and are constantly changing. DEA reporting, however, indicates that the concealment of narco-dollars in luggage, and the smuggling of those funds to Mexico via commercial airlines and personal vehicles is the most common method of moving drug proceeds. DEA reporting has also indicated that transportation companies are recruiting drivers to transport drug proceeds from the United States to Mexico. 'DEA  Country profile on Mexico'

If you believe what you read, then most of this money ends up with terrorists.

FBI, Report....

The FBI, in conjunction with its law enforcement and intelligence community partners, is making a difference. Since September 11, 2001, more than 3,000 Al-Qa'ida leaders and foot soldiers have been taken into custody around the globe; nearly 200 suspected terrorist associates have been charged with crimes in the U.S.; and as many as a hundred terrorist attacks or plots have been broken up worldwide. The FBI is committed to preventing acts of terror and to protecting the security of the American people.

As for Bush and vacation time, he is accessible 24/7/365 you know that as well as the rest of us.

I replied to dennis's post, not to your anti-Bush rambllings, if you don't like him, don't vote for him, simple as that. BTW, 1998, wasn't Clinton in office??

Yep, I live in a perfect little world, good job, nice house, great family and one hell of a guard dog, who protects it all.

Face it JL, "we the people" doesn't exist anymore.

Let's see how the 911 investigation has been going.

Has the Saudi government been helping us?

1.  ?he report strongly criticized top Saudi officials for their ?ack of cooperation?before and after the Sept. 11 attacks, even when it became known that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis.?ne top U.S. official told the joint inquiry staff that the Saudis since 1996 would not cooperate on matters relating to Osama bin Laden.  Robert Baer, a former CIA officer, said the Saudis blocked FBI agents from talking to relatives of the 15 hijackers and following other leads in the kingdom.?  Frank Davies, et al., ?ush rejects call to give more 9/11 data,?Philadelphia Inquirer, July 30, 2003.

2. Riyadh has not yet fully joined the international effort to block bank accounts thought to be financing terrorist operations, U.S. officials say. But the Bush administration, fearful of offending the Saudis, has not yet raised a public complaint. Elaine Sciolino, et al., ?.S. is Reluctant to Upset Flawed, Fragile Saudi Ties,?New York Times, October 25, 2001.

But at least our own people are on the sides of the 911 families, right?

3.  Fact: More than 500 relatives of 9/11 victims filed suit Saudi Royals and others. The lawyers the Saudi Defense Minister hired to fight these 9/11 families was the law firm of Bush family confidant James A. Baker.

"James Baker, whom Bush recently sent abroad seeking help to reduce Iraq's debt, is still a senior counselor for the Carlyle Group, and Baker's Houston-based law firm, Baker Botts, is representing the Saudi defense minister in Motley? [plaintiff? council in class-action suit in connection with September 11th attacks] case.?New York Times, ? Nation Unto Itself,?March 14, 2004

The only solution that I have is to vote Bush out.  If that means crossing party lines (ugh!) and voting for Kerry (ugh! ugh!) than so be it.

I hope that I'm not getting on peoples nerves; political debate will do that.  I also hope that no one takes this to heart.

It is Bush I have the problem with, not anyone here on the board.  I respect all opinions and the right to express them.

Number 1, being the conservative that I am, could we insert Uncle Ted Nugent into the aforementioned ticket somewhere?  Gotta keep Lovitz tho! LMAO

Number 2, for a terrible moment or two, lets assume all the rhetoric (is it based on primary sources or just opinions of the authors) is true.  What has Kerry or anyone else who is so sick with Bush proposed to do differently?  Enlist the help of the U.N.?  Laughable.  That's like the Florida folks requesting U.N. supervision of the election.  The U.N. is just as riddled with corruption.  Benon Savan, the executive director of the U.N. Oil for Food Program received a sizable payoff from Saddam Hussein.  French and Russion officials were also paid off, so the likelihood of getting U.N. support for military action in Iraq was virtually nonexistent (with the exception of a few small entities, ex. Spain, Japan, Korea, Phillipines, etc.).  Kerry and Edwards would have us believe that they are more capable of running the country than Bush. Yet they still seem unable to grasp the plain truth that the United Nations is corrupt and worthless. Remember Bosnia? We're still there.  And again, we have no course of action from the Democrats or left wing or whatever you want to call them which outlines a better way to do things.  And, remember, Kerry voted for Iraq before he voted against it, just like weaponry our troops could be using, pay raises, ballistic vests, ad nauseum.

Could anyone ever support a man for Commander-In-Chief who votes down materials (not to mention better pay and benefits) needed by the armed forces? No way.  Wonder how Kerry would be received if he went to Baghdad or Karballah?

Guess we'll have to wait and see what pans out. I'm with Ice.  This horse is getting too tired to beat.  I was serious about Ted tho.

Let's see how our Commander-In-Chief's record stacks up to that statement:

1.  The Bush administration announced that it would roll-back ?odest?increases of benefits to troops. The Army Times noted, "the administration announced that on Oct. 1 it wants to roll back recent modest increases in monthly imminent-danger from $225 to $150 (a cut of 33%) and family-separation allowances from $250 to $100 (a cut of 60%) for troops getting shot at in combat zones."  http://www.armytimes.com/story.php?f=1-292259-1989240.php

2. "The White House had expressed its ?trong opposition?to the Senate? effort to expand military health benefits to reservists and National Guard members, and boost 'veterans?health care spending by $1.3 billion." Jonathan Weisman, "Bush Aides Threaten Veto of Iraqi Aid Measure," Washington Post, October 22, 2003.

3. In early 2003, the Bush administration announced that it was closing "seven of its 163 veteran? hospitals in an effort to ?estructure?the Department of Veterans Affairs." Suzanne Gamboa, "VA Proposes Overhaul, 13 Facilities Would Close or See Major Changes," Associated Press, August 4, 2003.

4. In 2003, the Bush administration proposed increasing prescription drug costs for veterans, a proposal that would have doubled the cost of prescription drugs. "The Bush plan would have included a new $250 enrollment fee and a co-pay increase from $7 to $15 for veterans earning over $24,000." The House amended the proposal to reject the Bush administration? fee increases and to recoup the $264 million in costs by reducing administrative funding for the VA. "Panel Rejects Extra Funds for AmeriCorps," Washington Post, July 22, 2003.

5. "U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has helped push a bill through the Senate to improve the health care benefits of Guard and Reserve members. This bill has had broad bipartisan support since it was introduced in May. Last week Graham had his health care plan attached as an amendment to the $87 billion supplemental appropriations bill that President Bush is seeking to pay for ongoing operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The House should take up the amendment next week. Strangely, the Bush administration has opposed this new benefit for Guard and Reserve members, arguing that it would be too expensive." Staff, "Helping our Guard and Reserve," The Greenville News, October 16, 2003.

Enough?  No way, not in an election year.  This is an ongoing political discussion that will be around for at least a few more months.

People around here are avoiding the facts like crazy!

Can we all be so blind?  Re-read the facts that I posted, then think.  We are in this together, and your vote counts.

ok i have been away few days so let me try to catch up here

1. my camper is parked in a seasonal site, i do not have a vehicle to tow it and it weights 7200 pounds, it stays in the same spot until i decide to move to another site or trade it in. the dealer i purchase it from delivered it back in may. i do not travel yet with camping. when i do travel i usually stay at holiday inn as i get 75% off the room rates and 50% off of food as i use to stay with them when emplyed by the state and on the road doing audits etc. it is my plan to buy a small conversion van rv some day and tour the country.

2. i don;t mind people driving suv's etc, but why do people have to drive much higher then the spped limit. my point was, terroist control the oil wells and they just sit back and love the fuel we waste. i saw report on tv where our energy use has increased 25% in just last 5 years. why?

3. michael moore is ion american and is entitle to free speech etc. just like passion of the christ i would love to see these movies just to see what the controversial issues were on them.

dateline,,,,,,,,,,,,VegasLinda Ronstadt comments on F 911, calls Moore a "real American" insists all should see the movie and observe the true facts.4500 patron, boo, throw drinks etc.Ronstadt, escorted (physically) from the Aladin hotel and NOT permitted to return, not even to retrieve her belongings from her suite."as long as I am here, she will not be" Pres. Aladin hotel Las Vegas.and Martha thought she had troubles?

According to Reuters News agency:

"About a quarter of the 4,500 people in the audience got up and left before the performance had finished..." http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=entertainmentNews&storyID=5710258

That means roughly 3,375 people stayed.  Just some more facts to ignore.
