Not everyone looks forward to going to church but I did. Sine my mom worked at the church and I went to that school, we went every Sunday of course. My mom and grandma always looked their best. My grandmother was in her 50’s and still looked young.
I liked church because it meant I got to ride in the back of the beetle and I had a great view without my mom knowing I was looking.

This Sunday we got in the car, my mom was wearing a brown dress, nude pantyhose and open toe heels. We all got in the car and I got in the back. The car was hard to start as usual and it took a while to get it started. My mom did not let it warm up and backed out of the driveway. Big mistake. The car died at the end of the driveway in the middle of the street. I watched her try to get it started for five minutes until she did, but it jerked ahead and died and she had to try again. After a few tries she got it started but it died at the stop sign at the end of our street.

This made my grandma upset and she started complaining. My mother argued back while she was trying to start her car and they went back and fourth. Eventually everyone was quiet and we all watched her try to get the car started.

She got it started but it stalled again at one of the lights in town. Once again my grandmother started complaining and they started bickering. My mother was trying desperately to get the car started, cranking the engine a very long time. The light changed and people were honking. At that point she did something she almost ever did, she yelled. She told my grandma to just be quiet.

Everyone in the car was silent as she tried desperately to start her bug. We were there for a long time before a police car saw us and circled around behind us. The police officer came to the window and asked my mom if we needed help. She said she thought she could get it started and he said okay. He stayed behind us until my mother drained the battery. Then we had to get a tow truck.

We still went to church that day.

Eheh another good story. I love that it stalled repeatedly while going to church. And the vision from the rear seat must have been simply perfect.

Great story. I have also witnessed such a fight once in our car it was between my mom and her friend when the car was not starting. I shall share it soon.

Wow I would love to hear that story plan 800.
Murmer79 that happened a lot and yes the view from the back was perfect. It made me enjoy going to church every time even when the car didn’t stall I liked  watching her work the gas pedal/clutch.

I remember one time leaving church it stalled right as we were about to pull onto the road at the end of the church parking lot. Other cars were behind us and people got out to help, but they didn’t really do anything but watch her. She had some very long cranking attempts and eventually got it started but it stalled at the first light we got to and the fight was on again to get the car started before the light turned green, then of course cars started honking and my grandma started complaining  and my mom was arguing with her while at the same time desperately trying to get the car started.

She got it started and we drove into a parking lot to see if it was okay to drive. We sat there and after a while she pulled out and we drove home.
